The Endless Cycle of Baby Illnesses: A True Test of Motherhood 🤒

💡 English Version:
On this journey of motherhood, the scariest thing isn't the exhaustion—it's when your baby gets sick.
That unpredictable rollercoaster, where they seem fine yesterday only to spike a fever again today, is guaranteed to make any mom second-guess herself.
Every time I feel that burning forehead in the middle of the night or hear that heartbreaking cough, my anxiety immediately hits roof-level. During those sleepless nights of rocking and soothing him, endless self-doubt creeps in: Did I fail to take proper care of him? Did I not dress him warmly enough? Should I have kept him at home?
As a stay-at-home mom, the emotional pressure can feel overwhelming. He stays home most of the time, eats wholesome, nutrient-rich food, and rarely goes out to crowded playdates—so why does he still get sick so often? In front of family and friends, there's a heavy sense of guilt and embarrassment, as if I haven't been doing my main "job" properly.
That raw mix of frustration and helplessness plays out again and again—with every visible runny nose, every persistent cough, and under the watchful, judging eyes of onlookers whenever we go out for gatherings or social occasions.
Looking at the medicine bottles, cooling patches, and thermometers scattered around, all I wish is to trade places with him. Yet, this is an inevitable storm on the road of growing up. As agonizing as it gets, and as often as we doubt our ability to mother, seeing him run around and giggle again after recovering makes us pat our exhausted shoulders and say: "We made it through another round."
(Though, if there’s one silver lining to these sick days, it’s the unexpected side effect of medication—he usually sleeps like a rock through the night without waking us up, accidentally granting us the rare bliss of sleeping straight until 7 AM! Haha!)
