👶🏻寶寶的第一次過夜旅行｜First Overnight Trip with Baby

我們的第一場小旅行，目的地是休士頓。這趟旅程其實不是為了玩，而是要送家人去國際機場搭機回台灣。

兩週前，我就開始一點一滴盤點要帶的東西。上網採購、列清單、反覆確認。光是床，就佔了一個整整的手提箱。喝奶的部分更是思考了整整一個禮拜——最後索性全都帶上：現成的水奶、奶粉、擠奶器。兩大包，滿滿的，像是在搬一個小家的縮影。

單趟三小時的車程，去程時寶寶很給面子，一路在睡。夜裡睡在飯店，冷氣正對著床，我整晚頻頻起身，只為確定那陣風沒有吹到他。

回程時，在最後一個小時他開始哭鬧。天色漸暗，我和先生怕影響行車安全，只好拿出音樂玩具安撫。那一刻的我們，既緊張又默契十足。

這趟旅程裡，寶寶幾乎沒有享受到新的地方與環境。對他來說，陌生的空氣、不同的床、不同的聲音，都不如家裡熟悉的氣味來得安心。

當車子一停進車庫，他立刻停止哭泣，露出放鬆的神情。對於一對晚上沒睡好、又開了八小時車的夫妻來說，這句話也同樣成立——家，永遠是最舒服的地方。

👶🏻Baby’s First Overnight Trip

Our first little trip took us to Houston—not for sightseeing, but to send family off at the international airport for their flight back to Taiwan.

Two weeks before the trip, I started making lists and shopping online.Just the travel crib alone filled an entire suitcase.Feeding took me a whole week to figure out, and in the end, I decided to bring everything: ready-to-feed milk, formula, and the pump—packed into two full bags, like a tiny home on the move.

The three-hour drive went smoothly. Our baby slept peacefully the whole way.That night in the hotel, the air conditioner blew straight toward his crib, and I kept getting up just to check if he was too cold.

On the way back, he began to fuss during the last hour.As dusk settled, we worried the crying might distract from driving, so we turned on a musical toy to soothe him—tense, but in quiet teamwork.

The funny thing is, he didn’t really enjoy the new place or the change of scenery at all.For him, unfamiliar air, a different bed, and new sounds couldn’t compare to the comfort of home.

The moment we parked in our garage, he stopped crying right away, his face softening into calm.And for two parents who barely slept and drove eight hours round trip,we felt exactly the same—there’s truly no place like home.
